I was asked to present the trophies at the 2019 LCCP Show.
and was truly amazed and delighted at the quality and range of produce and crafts on show. In particular the enthusiasm and dedication of the local community both young and old.
Having spent over four decades working throughout the rural communities of Devon and Cornwall I can attest to the importance of people coming together to participate in and support shows such as this.
The day was glorious and proved beyond doubt that these rural country shows are the back-bone of our wonderful lands of the West Country and especially the Duchy of Cornwall. It was a great fun afternoon meeting everyone and realising I knew more folk than I had expected, some for more than 30 years! The prize-giving was a real treat and I went away full of scones with cream and jam – the right way around – and lashings of tea from the smiling ladies of the various W.Is.
Thank you One and All for inviting me and for a sunny, rural and uplifting afternoon. I wish you a wonderful show for this year and many to come.
Oll an Gwella !
